When you first set eyes on the Samsung 213T your first reaction is always wow! You get the choice of silver or black and the thin bezel looks very stylish with lots of screen space and not much border.
A thin border would also make using two of these side by side a very appealing but expensive option/dream.
With a very nice 1600 by 1200 pixels spread across 21.3" you get much larger and clearer text than a 19" or 21" CRT computer monitor. In this price range are workstation 22" CRT monitors that can compete in terms of resolution and image clarity but they take up entire desks, weigh over 100 pounds and cannot offer the geometric stability of an LCD.
In the end if you make your living staring at a computer screen it makes a lot of sense to have one that is easy on the eyes and that allows you to set high resolutions. For now this Samsung 213T 21" LCD is your entry level option to 1600 by 1200 LCD display goodness.

With such a high price tag you expect the best and you get it. A great contrast ration of 500:1 and a very bright 250 cd/m2 means you get very good contrast with blacks looking black, greys looking grey and colors vivid and not washed out. However LCDs still trail CRT monitors in terms of raw color performance and people who color correct photos probably won't be switching to LCD monitors just yet.
One slight deficiency with this monitor is the relatively slow response rate of 24ms. This is still a good response time but probably not fast enough for action gamers. You won't notice blurring when you play high frame rate action games but you will notice that it doesn't "feel" the same as a CRT.
My conclusion on the Samsung 213T 21" LCD monitor
Samsung have upped the ante again with this latest monitor release. For web designers, programmers and almost anyone else it is impossible to get a better performing LCD monitor for less. There are other high cost options but Samsung have put this kind of LCD monitor within reach of the masses.
